Your itinerary

Day 1

In the heart of the city, the Althoff Hotel am Schlossgarten is looking forward to welcoming you. Just a few kilometres from here, you will discover the beating, vibrant heart of Porsche. In Zuffenhausen, the Porsche Museum illustrates the exciting history of the famous sports car manufacturer. This is the perfect way to kick off your trip in the tyre tracks of the legend that is Porsche. After lunch at the Christophorus restaurant, you can witness the development of the latest Porsche models on a factory tour right next door. Back at the hotel, your day ends with a dinner at the restaurant of the Althoff Hotel am Schlossgarten.

Did you know…? The Porsche Museum houses a unique attraction: The acoustic installation ‘Porsche in the Mix’ transforms the typical sounds of your favourite model into an original piece of music that you compose yourself.

Day 2
Stuttgart – Würzburg – Eisenach

From the factory to the road. Picturesque vineyards pass by as the city becomes smaller and smaller in the rear-view mirror. During a pit stop and lunch at Schlosshotel Steinburg, you can enjoy the most delicious food that the city of Würzburg and the Main Valley have to offer. After an exciting, winding drive, you will arrive at Eisenach, and once more, the only way is up: to the Romantik Hotel auf der Wartburg perched high above the city. Sadly, Martin Luther’s experience here in the past was not quite so comfortable. You can view his former chamber during a guided tour of the castle. He certainly would not have turned down the splendid dinner you will enjoy at Landgrafenstube.

Did you know…? Wartburg Castle is a perfect representation of the feudal era in Central Europe and impressively reflects 1,000 years of German history. It has been watching over the city of Eisenach since 1067 and is still a key part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 3
Eisenach – Leipzig

The Thuringian Forest and the green Saale Valley will inspire you with countless curves and priceless views. But even the most idyllic of landscapes cannot tempt you to park your Porsche – unlike the Porsche factory in Leipzig. With an exciting and entertaining look behind the scenes, you can expand your knowledge about how the Porsche Panamera or Porsche Macan are developed. But nothing is more exciting than taking the much-coveted products themselves for a spin on the test track. On the factory’s on-road and off-road courses, the limits of physics and the ideal line are only inches apart. The diverse range of Porsche models is waiting for you. A special highlight: the Porsche Taycan provides an extra element of all-electric driving pleasure on the on-road track. One thing is certain: this unique driving opportunity is not to be missed. Afterwards, the Steigenberger Grandhotel Handelshof in Leipzig will do its best to calm your racing heart.

Did you know…? The FIA-certified Porsche circuit in Leipzig reproduces some of the most famous features from the world of motorsports – from the Suzuka S and the Spa-Francorchamps bus stop chicane to the legendary Parabolica at Monza. A 150-metre-long dynamic surface and an irrigated circular course round off the racing experience perfectly.

Day 4
Leipzig – Stuttgart

Everyone starts the day at their own pace – especially after the adrenaline rush of the Porsche Leipzig on- and off-road courses. You may prefer a long, hearty breakfast after a lie-in. Or maybe you can hardly wait to discover Leipzig, a trade fair city worth seeing on a morning city tour. On the motorway heading towards Bayreuth, however, everybody will be happy to keep up the pace – not least because a culinary highlight is waiting for lunch: a menu at the Posthotel Alexander Herrmann, whose restaurant was awarded 2 Michelin stars in 2019. On the last kilometres back to the starting point of the journey, you can once more savour the pure joy of driving. After the transfer back to the Althoff Hotel am Schlossgarten and your departure, you will probably find that 4 intensive days can go a long way toward shedding some light on the legend of Porsche. Even though not all of its secrets can ever be revealed.

Did you know…? The Steigenberger Grandhotel Handelshof in Leipzig is located directly beside St. Nicholas Church, where Johann Sebastian Bach served as music director for 27 years. In 1982, the church became the nucleus of the East German civil rights movement. Without the Monday peace prayers that later led to the large-scale Monday demonstrations, the Berlin Wall would probably not have come down in November 1989.
