Training programme

The Porsche Ice Experience driving training courses are divided into various training levels (Ice Experience; Ice Force; Ice Force Pro) that build on one another, and a special training event (Ice Cup).

First-time participants in the Porsche Ice Experience can get started with the Ice Experience training course for beginners or take part in the Ice Cup special training event. In addition to learning the fundamental theoretical principles of driver safety and driving dynamics, the training level Ice Experinence also includes intensive driving practice. A mix of section training and handling tracks as well as an opportunity to switch between different Porsche models form the basis for better vehicle control on snow and ice. The Ice Force and Ice Force Pro levels can then be completed. In the training special Ice Cup, participants get to drive GT race cars in a challenging environment. They learn techniques for driving Porsche race cars on snow and ice.

This may be possible if you have already attended a driver training course delivered by another provider that focuses on vehicle handling on snow and ice. To do this, you will need to provide proof of the training and the content that you covered. If the content meets the teaching standards of the Porsche Ice Experience, you could, following consultation, start directly with the advanced Ice Force or Ice Force Pro training events.

General information

Due to the international nature of the events and for safety reasons, so that participants can follow the instructions given by the tour guides/instructors and safety personnel, German and English are the languages used for events. If one of the participants in a particular group can only speak and understand English, the event will be held entirely in English.

Porsche Experience endeavours to take your wishes into consideration when allocating groups and vehicles. Please advise us accordingly when you are booking. There are only limited options for changing groups following consultation locally.

Before the event begins, you must sign a liability waiver. Insofar as you are hiring a Porsche model, you must sign a car hire agreement. You must also fill out a health questionnaire before the event. The aforementioned documents must be signed in order to participate in Porsche Experience events. Have your driving licence, personal ID card/passport and your credit card ready (original documents). You will be asked to complete a data usage form and an image and video permit (on a voluntary basis) to indicate your consent to your data being used as well as to image and video use.

The Porsche Experience team will inform you about the general requirements of the passport and visa regulations in the country of destination prior to the conclusion of the contract as well as any changes before travel. You are responsible for obtaining and keeping all officially required travel documentation, any vaccinations that may be required, and for observing customs and foreign exchange regulations. Further information on this can be found in the terms and conditions.

The Porsche Ice Experience team recommends that you pack the following: • Lip balm • Sunscreen • Thermal underwear/ski underwear • A warm winter jacket • Comfortable, warm, sturdy winter shoes. As you will spend most of your time in the vehicle, the Porsche Ice Experience team recommends that you also pack the following items: • Casual wear • A light jacket • Trainers or comfortable winter shoes that are suitable for driving • Sunglasses/snow goggles. Elegant leisure wear (smart casual) is desirable for dinner. Only thermal underwear/ski underwear is required for the snowmobile tour (only available with the Ice Experience beginner level). Everything else will be provided by our partner Lapland Safaris.

You are very welcome to register an accompanying person. The services provided for accompanying persons include: accommodation, breakfast, lunch, dinner, transfers between the hotel and the airport and the snowmobile tour (only available with the Ice Experience beginners level). The accompanying persons organise their own itinerary for the day – the hotel reception will be very happy to help in this regard.

The quickest way to get to the destination airport (Kittilä, KKT) is to fly via Helsinki. You are responsible for getting to and from the destination airport and for the cost of this travel. In Kittilä, the Porsche Ice Experience team will meet you and bring you to the Hotel Levi Panorama (16 km away). To do this, the Porsche Ice Experience will need your travel dates. Please enter these dates up to 10 days before your event in your user profile under "Bookings and Invoices". You can also get to Levi using your own vehicle and travelling by car ferry (e.g. from Rostock to Helsinki).

The driving trainings of the Porsche Ice Experience will take place even in less-than-ideal weather conditions and will be adapted to suit those conditions. In order to ensure maximum safety for all participants, Porsche Ice Experience reserves the right to interrupt or abandon training in the event of storms or severe weather conditions. In the event of warmer temperatures, Porsche Ice Experience also reserves the right to bring forward the start of the event or to fit different tyres (with a different spike length if applicable – not according to the programme).

During the training, you will stay at the Hotel Levi Panorama.

In Finland, you pay in euros. Cash is readily accepted, as is a Maestro or credit card. ATMs are available throughout the country. Credit cards are widely available as cashless payment methods in Finland. Please note that, in order to participate in the Porsche Ice Experience, you will need to produce a credit card locally and before the event begins.

The number of participants varies according to the type of event. The following are the maximum numbers of places that can be assigned: Ice Experience – 50 participants; Ice Force – 40 participants; Ice Force Pro – 40 participants; Ice Cup –10 participants.

You also have the option of creating a customised programme for yourself. In this, your wishes are paramount. Customised events have the following advantages: • Individual group size • Individual programme of activities • Individual tailoring of the driving programme • Individual choice of restaurants • Individual choice of room category. Please go ‘Customised Events’ for further information.

In general, racing suits are not required for the Porsche Ice Experience events. Only for the cab rides with the Cup cars racing suits will be provided. Helmets are required for the Ice Cup training and when GT vehicles are used in the Ice Force Pro training. In addition, the Porsche Ice Experience recommends that a HANS device is worn for the Ice Cup training and if GT vehicles are used for other training courses. However, if a customer decides not to wear a HANS device, they must bear the responsibility in the event of an accident. The helmets and HANS devices are available on loan for these events.

The first driving day begins with a theoretical driver briefing, which is mandatory for all participants. You will then be brought to the Porsche Driving Area, where your training will take place. Depending on the training level or special training event, you will be driving on different sections and handling tracks. The actual driving time varies according to the training course and ranges between 5.5 and 7.5 hours. The aim is to optimise your driving skills. You will have lunch right on the track, in the south or north lodge. The coffee break will also take place here. After the driving day, you will be brought back to the Hotel Levi Panorama. All participants will dine together, rounding off the day.
