Michelin

Porsche and Michelin have been enjoying a long and extremely successful collaboration. Through its pioneering developments in the field of high-performance tyres, Michelin is contributing to Porsche’s ability to meet the requirements of its exacting customers. Every Porsche is guaranteed to have superb handling characteristics. This is due in no small part to the fact that specific tyres are manufactured for each individual model. As the main link between the car and the road, the tyre is designed at an early stage in the vehicle development process. Michelin is currently equipping the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race cars for the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and the Porsche Carrera Cups across the world, the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR and the Porsche 911 GT3 R in various national and international GT Championships and the Porsche sports cars in the Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland. And, of course, the Porsche 919 Hybrid, which won the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) for the third consecutive time in 2017. Porsche trusts the quality of Michelin tyres – on the road and on the track.

The partnership between the two companies was formed in 1996 and has resulted in tremendous success on the racetrack, demonstrating the impressive performance and protection that Mobil 1 provides. Mobil 1 sees motorsports as the ideal area for developing new technologies and putting them into practice. For example, the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race cars in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and in the international Porsche Carrera Cups – as well as all other Porsche race cars – are equipped with the latest Mobil 1, based on the innovative Mobil SHC Synthetic Technology. And Mobil 1 is always present on the production line as well, as every Porsche engine leaving the factory is equipped with Mobil 1.
