Andermatt, Guttannen, Andermatt: the dream of Swiss passes.
Today is the most intense day of driving on the trip: a veritable parade of Switzerland’s most legendary Alpine passes. First up is the Oberalp Pass, not far from the source of the Rhine, followed by the Lukmanier Pass. Shortly afterwards, you will reach the imposing Santa Maria arch dam – an impressive mix of natural power and human engineering. With the Furka and Grimsel Passes, two icons of Alpine driving culture are also on the agenda – including the legendary abandonned Hotel Belvédère which so many people seek to see. At Lake Grimsel, you can enjoy an remote and authentic lunch with stunning views.
The return journey to Andermatt is no less spectacular: the Susten Pass delights with flowing curves, wide roads and perfect conditions – pure driving pleasure. But the day does not just end anywhere. Dinner awaits you at an altitude of 2,340 metres – stylishly accessible by cable car. High above the valley, you will enjoy fine cuisine and a breathtaking view of the alpine world that you have experienced so intensely during the day.

Andermatt, Davos, St. Moritz: the Swiss Grand Canyon.
The Rhine Gorge – 400 metres deep and 13 kilometres long – is not known as the “Swiss Grand Canyon” for nothing. High above the treetops, the road winds its way through the nature park, while the view stretches far beyond dense coniferous forests. As soon as the scenery opens up and lush green mountain meadows come into view, Davos is not far away. The internationally renowned Alpine town provides the setting for a hearty lunch break with homemade specialities. Then it is back behind the wheel – and on with the driving pleasure. The Flüela Pass delights with its quiet roads that wind their way through the rugged mountain landscape.
The driving highlight follows with the Bernina Pass. At 2,235 metres, it offers not only flowing lines and sporting challenges, but also spectacular views of turquoise mountain lakes, mighty glaciers and the imposing Piz Palü. Parallel to the road runs the UNESCO-protected Bernina Railway – a symbol of Swiss engineering in the midst of unspoilt nature. Once you arrive in St. Moritz, the Grand Hotel des Bains Kempinski awaits you with its magnificent open house and newly renovated rooms – ideal for a stylish end to the day. And because this is your last evening in Switzerland, a classic speciality is a must: an atmospheric cheese fondue as a fitting farewell to the land of mountain passes.

St. Moritz, Lago Maggiore, Lake Orta: first demanding, then heavenly.
A sense of departure fills the air as the final stage begins in the breathtaking Engadin valley – a high alpine paradise where rugged peaks, crystal-clear lakes and sweeping landscapes come together in perfect harmony. Here, Swiss precision meets Italian charm in a region made for driving. The road soon leads you over the Maloja Pass, where smooth curves and dramatic mountain scenery demand your full attention. Then comes the Splügen Pass – tighter, twistier and more challenging – offering a true taste of classic Alpine driving.
At Lake Maggiore, another highlight awaits: a leisurely lunch right by the water’s edge, surrounded by cinematic scenery and Mediterranean lightness. Refreshed and inspired, you return to “Laqua by the Lake”. From there, you board a boat for a short ride across the lake to the dinner location.
